Back from meeting engineering girl students from two colleges in rural Tamil Nadu in India. Idea is to engage with the students and motivate them to join the Tech industry after completion of their study. Based on a survey that I conducted before meeting them, only 30% are keen on joining a tech company. While that is not very encouraging, even less get through campus recruitment. Nearly 40% of them responded that they do not have a say in whether they will be able to work or not. Gotta change that!!!
